2016 College Admission Rates #college #admissions

High school seniors across the United States received their final notifications from colleges this past week. They now have until May 1 to determine which college acceptance is the right fit. Various articles here, here and here indicate that more students applied to college this year than last, which is good. However, most colleges have not increased their admissions, so that means more students may not be able to attend a 4-year college or university. Regardless of the complexity of college admissions, it is interesting to note the admission rates of various colleges and universities:

  • Brown: 9 %
  • Columbia: 6 %
  • Cornell: 14 %
  • Dartmouth: 10.5 %
  • Duke University: 10.4 %
  • Harvard: 5.2 %
  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology: 7.8 %
  • Princeton: 6.5 %
  • Stanford: 4.7 %
  • University of Pennsylvania: 9.4 %
  • USC: 16.5%
  • Yale: 6.3 %
  • University of California (2015)
  • California State Universities (2015)
